Hannah is confined to a hospital room. She has just undergone the decisive gender-affirming surgery that completes her transformation from boy to girl. She knows she’ll have to stay at the hospital for a week, until the wounds have healed, but the white walls and the endless waiting before she can finally leave the nest feel unbearable. The room is empty, and only the memories of what she has been through stir in her mind.
